Lawn Weed and Feed Programs
Enhance the beauty and health of your lawn by letting us provide you with expertise, knowledge and professionalism. We use high quality slow release fertilizer, keeping your lawn greener longer. Selective weed killers are used in spot treatments to ensure a lush weed free lawn. We also provide supplements and micro-nutrients when needed. All this is done by always being conscious of the environment. We do not require a certain amount of treatments. We will provide you with the information needed for you, the customer, to chose the plan that is right for you and your lawn.
Tick and Mosquito Treatments/Programs
Summers in Maine are short, and we all try to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible in this small window of beautiful weather. Ticks and Mosquitos can significantly take away any pleasure of being outside. Not only are they extremely annoying, but both pests can spread very harmful diseases. That is where Maine Roots can help. Let us provide perimeter treatments to significantly reduce tick and mosquito populations so you and your family can safely enjoy the outdoors again. The products we use are EPA-registered and completely safe for children and pets while providing effectiveness for 3-4 weeks. With mosquitos and ticks emerging all season long, we recommend monthly treatments to stay ahead of these pests, providing your family the opportunity to enjoy your yard. Seasonal/Individual and Event Treatments are available. In addition to our EPA-registered products, we do offer essential oil treatments that can reduce tick and mosquito populations. Insect Pest Control
Insect Pests can be detrimental to lawns, structures, trees, shrubs and landscaped areas. Identifying these pests is key in controlling them. In many cases these pests can be treated using non-pesticide options. Maine Roots Property Maintenance will always use pesticides as a last choice option. Our professionals are trained to identify and develop a plan that meets the customers' expectations of eliminating the pest. Ph Control and Soil Analysis
Soil analysis is a very important in identifying your lawns nutrient needs. Maine soils are typically very acidic meaning the pH is lower than optimum for growing turf grasses. In this situation lime should be added to the soil. A soil test is very important in giving you the rates in which to apply the lime along with necessary fertility requirements. Maine Roots Property Maintenance will always provide a free soil analysis for any NEW lawn weed and feed program customers, to ensure the proper use of nutrients, micro-nutrients and pH requirements. These soil tests are done at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.
Landscape Bed Maintenance/Mulch
Nothing can enhance the beauty and value of your home more than well-kept, healthy and attractive landscaped beds. Let's face it, in today's day and age most homeowners do not have the time to stay on top of weeding, cleaning and mulching landscaped areas. Maine Roots Property Maintenance takes great pride in making your landscaped areas the best on the block! Light Landscape Projects
While most of our time is spent doing lawn care applications and tick and mosquito treatments, landscaping is still a favorite. We enjoy doing some smaller end jobs, clean-ups, sodding and projects. Hedge Trimming/Pruning
Well trimmed/pruned shrubs, hedges and plants can really make your landscape stand out. Maine Roots Property Maintenance takes great pride in making your plantings look the best in the neighborhood. We use new cordless, telescopic equipment that alone will provide a higher quality cut. We prefer to do your trimming and pruning in early Fall to provide maximum new growth but will gladly do it at your conveiience or at a particular plants needs. Call for an estimate and availability.

About Us
Welcome to our website! Let me tell you a little bit about us. I have just recently moved to Brewer after living in Lincoln for 23 years. My background is in Turfgrass Management, UMASS Amherst. In 1998 I became Construction Golf Course Superintendent at Jato Highlands Golf Course. After course construction, I took on the role of General Manager. I spent 14 wonderful years there. In 2012, I then became the Lawn Care Specialist at Nicastro's Landscaping. My responsibilities were Lawn Care Weed and Feed Programs, Tick and Mosquito Treatments/Programs, Insect Pest Control, and various Landscaping Projects. In 2022 my girlfriend, Lori Keyte and I started Maine Roots Property Maintenance. Along with playing a significant role of the day to day operations at Maine Roots Property Maintenance, Lori is a Producer/Commercial Lines Account Manager at JT Rosborough in Ellsworth. She has enjoyed an amazing 20 years with the company. We both hold very strong work ethics and take a lot of pride in what we do. We are knowledgeable, responsible and very proud to be a family run business that likes to keep our dollars local. We are very fortunate to have such wonderful customers and we look forward to gaining more relationships in the coming years. Thank you all!!
